French II is back. After 2020's 'Control EP', the currently Berlin-based artist returns with a surprising next step in his sound. As one of Intercept's core members, Frank Klick, has shown himself to be a true innovator and instigator of bass-heavy and moody club sounds.

The title track 'CD is Dead' follows that exact formula, taking notes from his earlier work but also taking a leap forward by embracing flow instead of hype. This is contrasted by 'Frequency', a 140bpm dance floor killer, and one of the first 4/4 French II tracks to be released. Its driving bassline groove and zappy synths make for an electrifying dance floor weapon.

The EP is topped off with 'Shot Caller' and 'Still Here', with the last one ending the EP on an emotional high note.
